Editorial Board

The main role of the Editorial Board is to oversee assurance of academic quality and thematic relevance for the journal. The Editorial Board also oversees the selection of contents for each issue.

Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief is selected by the Univerisdad de La Sabana, in accordance with that university's Reglamentación 38, approved by the Comisión de Asuntos Generales del Consejo Superior, as Acta No. 1362 of 04 October 2012, on account of their academic experience and publications. These regulations specify that the Editor-in-Chief must, preferably, be a currently active researcher with publications from the preceeding 2 years in journals indexed in well-known citation indices. It is the Editor-in-Chief who in the first instance analyzes submissions for thematic relevance, rigor, clarity, and other requirements of the journal, and coordinates selection of and communication with peer reviewers. The Editorial Board, as a whole, oversees and collaborates in the fulfillment of these duties. In the event of any inconsistency with these requirements, the publisher will inform author(s).

Scientific Board

In accordance with the norms and expectations of academic publishing, the journal is accompanied by broad group of peer reviewers at educational and research institutions around the world. Peer reviewers are chosen on the basis of their academic qualifications and/or experience in relation to the topic(s) of the submission. It is their role to provide specific evaluation of works submitted for consideration by the journal relevant to their areas of expertise.

Periodicity

Presently, the journal regularly publishes 2 issues per year: in June (January-June) and December (July-December). Some special issues are published as additions to the regular biannual publication schedule.

Disclaimer

The articles published in this journal represent the opinions of their authors and do not necessarily reflect the official position of the Universidad de La Sabana.

Correction and Retraction Policy

In the event that it is necessary to present corrections to a previously published article, this is done by means of a note presenting errata and/or explanations that is published separately in the next available issue of the journal.

LACLIL does not remove articles from its online archive or printed issues. However, in the event that a serious problem with an article is discovered that exceeds the need for a simple correction or erratum notice—such as in a case of scientific misconduct, plagiarism, pervasive error, or unsubstantiated data—then the journal must publish a notice of retraction. This notice should clearly specify the reason that the article is considered invalid and has been retracted. Similarly, a retracted article is marked boldly, with an indication of where the associated retraction notice has been published. This policy is consistent with the standard practices of most scientific and scholarly journals.

Fraudulent submissions

If at any time during the editorial and/or review process, indications of forgery, data omission, duplication of submissions, or plagiarism is detected, the submission is returned the submitter(s) and due notification is made to their institution(s). All submissions to the journal are subjected to internal and external procedures intended to avoid plagiarism and the duplication of items. (A submission is understood as a "duplicate" if 75% or more of its content is substantially the same as that of a previous publication by the same authors).
