Laura Lucía Carreño-Bolívar is a full-professor at the School of Education, Universidad de La Sabana, Colombia. She is part of the faculty of the Master in English Language Teaching for Self-Directed Learning Program. She´s the leader of the Content and Language Integrated Course and Research Area. She holds a BA in Modern Languages and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics to TEFL.
She has been an English teacher, university professor and researcher for over sixteen years in different education institutions holding numerous positions. Laura has led several teacher-training projects and has presented at several renowned conferences in the field of language education. Laura has published articles in the fields of Intercultural Education, Teachers´ Professional Development and Blended Learning Environments.
Laura´s current research interests include Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), Teachers´ Professional Development, International and Intercultural Education. She is a member of the LALETUS Research group (MinCiencias, B) at Universidad de La Sabana.

Darío Luis Banegas is a Lecturer in Language Education and Deputy Director of Postgraduate Research at the Moray House School of Education and Sport, University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He is the leader of the Second Language Teaching Curriculum course. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and a Master’s in English Language Teaching from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. He also holds a bachelor’s degree as a teacher of English from Argentina.
From 2001 until 2019, he held different posts in Argentina: secondary school teacher of English, programme coordinator at a bilingual school, curriculum developer for the Ministry of Education of Chubut, and teacher educator, programme leader and research director at ISFD 809 (Esquel). Between 2019 and 2021 he was Lecturer in TESOL at the School of Education, University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom, where he led courses on language teaching methodology.
He has presented at world-leading conferences in the field of language education, and has published extensively in regional and international journals. He has also edited volumes and authored book chapters for international publishers such as Bloomsbury, Multilingual Matters, Palgrave, and Routledge. In the field of CLIL, he has carried out several studies as well as continuing professional development initiatives in South America and elsewhere. Dario is also an active member of professional associations in South America, the UK, and Europe. His main teaching and researching interests are: CLIL, action research, curriculum development, and initial language teacher education.
